npower and Allianz Worldwide Partners sign new partnership

With boiler and central heating care a stepping stone to connected home solutions

npower, the UK energy supplier owned by innogy, and Allianz Worldwide Partners, one of the world’s leading providers of assistance and insurance solutions, have today announced a new partnership.

Under the new agreement, and marking the partnership’s first joint venture, Allianz Worldwide Partners will provide a range of boiler and central heating care for homes across the UK.

npower will be responsible for introducing home services products to customers and Allianz Worldwide Partners in the UK will fulfil these services.  This includes the utilisation of its nationwide network of highly skilled boiler and heating engineers, including manufacturer’s own engineers, to provide at home assistance.  The combined expertise of npower and Allianz Worldwide Partners will set out to deliver a first class customer experience.

The first two products set for launch in August this year are Gas Boiler Cover and Central Heating Cover PLUS.  Both of these products come with two excess options - £0 or £99 - with prices starting from £10.92 a month.

The collaboration between npower and Allianz Worldwide Partners will see a range of home services products developed and launched in the coming months. The agreement also has wider future potential, as both companies are part of much larger organisations which operate right across Europe.

Andy Wiggans, npower Commercial Director, comments: “We know our customers lead very busy lives and need peace of mind that expert care provides. Working with Allianz Worldwide Partners – a market leader in the provision of assistance and insurance services - means we can keep our customers warm and their homes working well.

“Although we’re starting off working on home services, with the need for new infrastructure to deliver the connected home of the future there’s massive potential for growth in this area.”
